Meet the San Diego Sandy Sharks!

The Sandy Sharks are a professional basketball team playing in the Fantasy Basketball League (FBL). The team has been successful since their creation, winning 2 championships in 2019 and 2020. With 2 championships under their belt within their 3 years of the league, they have blossomed into the face of the FBL. Their success is greatly attributed to their highly coveted staff including their head coach that once coached in the NBA, their rival basketball league.

The franchise was created during the FBL’s inaugural season in 2018 - being one of the first 10 teams in the league. The Sandy Sharks are located in the beautiful city of San Diego in the golden state of California. San Diego is home to only one other professional sports team in the Padres and, since the addition of the Sandy Sharks, the city has created buzz for other leagues to add expansion teams. Located on the outskirts of San Diego is their brand new arena, The Bayer Center, which finished construction in 2017 (just in time for the Sandy Sharks home opener in May of 2018). With over 20,000 seats, the Sandy Sharks have had the most fans in attendance since the 2018 season.

The 2022 all star game will be held in the beautiful arena in San Diego for the first time in 4 years. Their social media presence has been booming as they rank 2nd in followers out of the 10 teams in the league with their viral hashtag #Swimwiththesharks trending worldwide during their back to back championship runs. With the 4th season starting December 12th, 2021, the Sandy Sharks are looking to make it a 3-peat. Get the new team shirt before their home opener on December 15th.
