The newest league for baseball was looking for new teams to jump start their league to try to amount to the success their rivals, the MLB, have. The Imaginary Baseball Association or the IBA looked all over the country to find cities that would take on the task of revealing such a coveted league.
The city of Tulsa was hesitant at first to jump on the idea of creating a new baseball team, but later decided to take advantage of the opportunity. The Outrageous Otters were the last franchise to be created in the IBA before starting their inaugural season in 2011. The idea of creating a professional baseball team in Tulsa was to drive more traffic and try to bring life back to the city. This would likely be the case as other teams - Louisville and Albuquerque - have rejuvenated their cities with fan support. However, this was not the case for Tulsa.
Even though the Outrageous Otters are a fun and young baseball team, they have been unsuccessful up to this point. Throughout the league's first 10 seasons, the Outrageous Otters only had one playoff appearances in 2013, losing in their first round. From that point on, all of the focus has been on the future of the team. The young core just added the number 1 overall draft pick to their lineup. Seeing that their future is bright, they look to complete a full rebranding; A new logo, jerseys and even a new field is expected to be complete in 2023.
Another bright spot seems to be their social media presence as they are more in touch with the times, being one of the top followed teams in the IBA. With publicity reaching their peak mixed with the rebranding, the Outrageous Otters are looking to have one of their most successful years since the early 2010s. The team has release brand new hoodies with the new team logo and they are being sold at Ageless Apparel on their website.
